Decks

Decks in the Pacific Northwest take a beating.  Many new deck installations with go with either the composite decking or with a deck covering.  A deck covering can be done with either a vinyl PVC material or with deck coatings.  We prefer the vinyl deck coverings as they tend to hold up better over time.  The composite decks are for those who wish to keep their plank deck look and want a longer-lasting material that does not dry rot or requires extensive pressure washing, staining, or painting every few years.

One deck alternative we offer is the paver on pedestal deck system.  This offers customers the durability and high-end look of porcelain or concrete pavers over a single-ply membrane deck.  We basically turn your deck into a single-ply roof, then ballast over it with pavers on adjustable pedestals allowing water to drain and keep water from pooling on top of the deck.  This type of system does require more structural strength (min 35lbs per square foot), but it is the best deck you can get.  There are options to install Ipe deck tiles over a single-ply system as well.
